Niche Marketing Tips - Dominating an Online NicheMany people believe that controlling or dominating a competitive online niche is beyond their abilities. These sorts of false beliefs certainly aren't aided by the hordes of internet marketers out there who make their livings by convincing people that low competitions niches offer a viable source of recurring internet income. The truth is that any niche online can be dominated with the proper amount of effort and the right strategy. This article offers some tips for developing your own strategy for controlling whatever niche you are focused on. Know your niche, determine the top concerns, fears, frustrations, needs, and expectations of people searching for information related to your targeted niche. It's one thing to know what search terms people are looking for but also try to get inside people's heads as well and understand "why" they are searching for these things in the first place. More often than not they are looking for a solution to a problem. Be a solution provider for them rather than just a content channel. Research your competition. Once you have set your sites on a particular niche it's time to pick apart your competitors. Make a list of your top five competitors and determine their strengths and weaknesses. This can be anything from the strength of their search positions to the types of services, products and extras they are offering their prospects. Make a detailed report of each your top five competitors strengths and weaknesses and pay attention to any weaknesses that are shared by competitors. This can later turn into your entry path into the market or leverage for controlling a segment of the niche. This need not be a long and exhausting process. Simply search for terms online related to your target niche and research the first five web sites in that search result. Look for obvious strengths and any weaknesses in their web sites that pop out at you. Try to understand what they are doing right and what opportunities they are missing out on. Remember, no matter how well established a competitor in any given niche may be there are always opportunities for innovation, creativity and improvement.
